Hi, my name is Allison (please call me Ally!). I am a registered occupational therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and am one of the co-founders of Kids Dream Big. I also hold memberships with the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. Regarding education, I completed a Bachelor of Science (Biological Science major) at the University of Guelph and obtained a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Western Ontario. I have also completed continuing education pursuits including:

  • Therapeutic Listening: Listening with the Whole Body

  • Autism ABA Help: Early Learner Online Course

  • Three Learning Without Tears workshops (Kindergarten - Grade 5 Handwriting, Pre-Kindergarten Readiness & Writing, and Pre-Kindergarten Literacy and Math)

  • I am currently completing a Sensory Solutions online course

I am very passionate about working with children with all different abilities and enabling them to complete meaningful activities and to reach their fullest potential. This passion firmly took hold when I was a high school student and has only continued to grow over the years through my diverse experiences working with children such as: volunteering at Sunrise Therapeutic Riding Centre, volunteer tutoring through Frontier College (children in grades K-6), volunteering at KidsAbility camps, and completing a placement at KidsAbility. I also worked as an occupational therapist and group assist at My Place Learning Centre, where I had the pleasure of working with children of various abilities in both individual and group therapy sessions. Prior to this I worked as an occupational therapist in General Medicine at St. Mary’s General Hospital.

Fun fact: I am a Disney enthusiast and enjoy travelling to Disney World.
